Book the right amount of time
If you still have product on from another tech, add a removal to your service. It’s the single most common reason an appointment runs over.

Bring your inspo
Send screenshots through Booksy when you book, or bring them on your phone. Detailed art needs extra time set aside, so a heads-up means you get exactly what you pictured.

Come with clean hands
No lotion or oil right before your appointment. Gel doesn’t like it. Skip the at-home filing too; I’d rather start from where you actually are.

Plan for the full slot
A Gel-X set or a fill runs about two and a half hours. Bring headphones, a podcast, or just come ready to talk. Both are welcome.
Making your set last three weeks
- Cuticle oil, daily. The most underrated step. Oil keeps the nail flexible so the product bends instead of cracking.
- Gloves for dishes and cleaning. Hot water and household chemicals are what loosen the seal at the edges.
- Your nails are not tools. No opening cans, scraping stickers, or prying anything. Use a knuckle.
- Don’t pick at a lift. If a corner catches, message me instead of pulling. Picking takes real layers of your natural nail with it.
- Rebook before you leave. Two to three weeks out. Fills are easier, cheaper and healthier than a full redo after a break.

How much does a full set of nails cost in Albuquerque at NailsByAsh?
A Gel Manicure is $50, a Structured Gel Manicure is $65, a Hard Gel Overlay is $65, and Gel-X Extensions are $75. Fills for structured gel or hard gel are $68. Removals run $15 to $25 depending on the product. The full menu with durations and descriptions is on the services page.
What is the difference between Gel-X, structured gel and hard gel?
Gel-X uses soft gel full-cover tips bonded to your natural nail, so it’s the option when you want added length or a specific shape. Structured gel builds a supportive apex on your own natural nail without extending it. Best if your nails bend or peel. Hard gel is the most durable overlay of the three and holds up well if you’re rough on your hands.
How often should I get a fill?
Most clients come back every two to three weeks. Booking your fill on time is cheaper than starting a whole new set and much gentler on your natural nails, because the product never gets long enough to catch and lift.
I have nails from another salon. What should I book?
Book the new service you want, then add Gel Removal (from another tech) for $15 so there’s enough time in the appointment to take the old product off safely. Please don’t peel or pry them off at home. That takes layers of your natural nail with it.
Do you do custom nail art?
Yes. Chrome, cat eye, French with a twist, hand-painted detail. Bring your screenshots or Pinterest board. Send the inspo through Booksy when you book so I can set aside the right amount of time for it.
Do you take walk-ins?
Yes, walk-ins are welcome. Stop by and if I have an opening, I’ll get you in. Booking ahead on Booksy is still the surest way to get the day and time you want, especially for longer services like Gel-X extensions or a fill.
